BrightSide Animal Center in Redmond now offers a fully fenced, 0.8-acre private dog park through Sniffspot! You can reserve the space for your pup(s) to enjoy off-leash zoomies and sniffing in a safe, private setting. The spot features 6+ ft chain-link fencing, dog drinking water, toys, a kiddie pool, hose, chairs, and off-street parking. Up to 6 dogs per booking, with 30-minute minimum visits. Best of all — your booking directly supports the animals at BrightSide Animal Center, a nonprofit shelter dedicated to helping animals in need. EXTREME FIRE DANGER in Redmond This Fourth of July
Conditions are critically dry. Even a small spark can start a devastating fire. The safest way to celebrate: skip personal fireworks and attend the professional show at the Deschutes County Fairgrounds. Dispose of unwanted fireworks (legal or illegal) at any Redmond fire station. Illegal fireworks carry serious consequences: fines up to $1,500 (or $6,000 for repeat offenses), possible jail time, charges for fire damage and response costs, criminal charges, and insurance may NOT cover damages from illegal activity. Even sparklers burn at 1,200 degrees, hot enough to ignite dry vegetation instantly. Oregon law prohibits fireworks that fly, explode, or travel across the ground more than 6 feet or rise more than 12 inches, including bottle rockets, Roman candles, firecrackers, and M-80s.
